De nieuwe bibliotheek maakt onderdeel uit van het "Masterplan Centrumplan Helmond", zoals dat door Busquets is gemaakt. De bibliotheek bestaat uit drie bouwlagen en omvat 4200 m2. Onder de bibliotheek bevindt zich het eerste deel van een grote parkeergarage. Op de begane grond zijn twee ingangen, vanuit de Watermolenwal en via de zijde van het Speelhuis. Verder is er op de begane grond een leescafé en zijn er winkels te vinden. Beide etages zijn voor de bibliotheek, daarnaast is er op de tweede etage nog ruimte voor het Historisch Informatiecentrum.
